description:
- Prat Long is a 19 th century stone built property, set in grounds of 8 hectares, where you can enjoy watching all the different birds, butterflies and the occasional animal visitor. The garden is for you to enjoy and explore, as are the woods which lead into the edge of the Gresigne forest.
- Prat Long is in easy reach of Cordes-sur-Ciel , a magnificent medieval hilltop town which has many studios, galleries and workshops, cafes and restaurants.
- The bedroom in the main house has recently been decorated, and furnished with a standard sized double bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and two chairs. The en-suite shower room has a large shower, a basin set in a vanity unit, and a toilet.
- The bedrooms in the gîte have recently been re-decorated and newly furnished. The new shower room has a large corner shower, wash hand basin and toilet. The separate toilet room also has a wash hand basin.
- The thick stone walls of Prat Long, ensure that it is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The house is centrally heated and double glazed throughout. The comfortable lounge provides a cool area for you to relax in summer or winter. The gîte is reached by an outer stairway at the rear of the property.
- Sorry, but no pets and no smoking allowed.
- Gaillac is famous for it's' vineyards, some of which are the oldest in France . These vineyards are on the doorstep of Prat Long, which makes it very convenient for the wine-tasting excursions. There is a very lively market every Friday. It is an ideal location for those seeking a truly French holiday.
- Albi is the capital of the Tarn department and situated on the banks of the river Tarn . There is a stunning Cathedral, the Bishops' Palace and Toulouse-Lautrec museum. River trips are available in summer.
- St Antonin Noble Val , is a medieval town of narrow streets, set in one of the more spectacular reaches of the Aveyron gorges. It is famous for a very popular Sunday morning market and was one of the settings used in the film Charlotte Gray. Canoe trips through the Aveyron Gorges can be taken from here. It is home to a local cinema where the latest films can be seen, often in the original language of the film.
- The area is one of outstanding natural beauty and has an interesting history. The Middle Ages were a time of great conflict and gave rise to the many fortified towns and villages in the region, which include Penne, Bruniquel, Puycelci and Castelnau-de-Montmiral. At Vaour , in the Gresigne forest, are the ruins of the Knights Templar headquarters.
- Najac , one of the most beautiful villages in all of France , is set upon a rocky peak overlooking the river Aveyron. The bastide town of Villefranche de Rouergue , set on the banks of the river Aveyron, is well worth a visit, especially for the Thursday market.
- Laguepie is a pretty village set at the confluence of the rivers Viaur and Aveyron. During the summer months it is possible to swim in the river Viaur where the water is tested daily for quality.
- Millau , now famous for the new viaduct, designed by the English architect Lord Norman Foster, is about two hours drive away, but is well worth the effort, and take a tour of the cheese caves at nearby Roquefort.
- Toulouse and Rodez airports are within a 1½ hour drive, and hire cars available from both.
