•  Vincenzo Russo.pure soul, almost illiterate, he composed some of the most beautiful neapolitan songs "Io te vurria vasà", "Torna Maggio" and the marvellous "Maria Marì". He, as a young glove-worker, used to work in a narrow shop between miasmas of dressed hide; every now and then he lifted his eyes towards a little balcony at the first floor where a young girl named Maria appeared. Vincenzo gazed at her and sighed.Ah Maria.Marì. The musician Di Capua, author of "O' sole mio" was impressed by the lyrics of the young poet. That's how Maria Marì came out!
  
• B and B "Maria Marì" is located in the heart of Naples, very close (20 meters) to the central "via Toledo", historical street, cross-roads of the most important artistic itineraries , just a short walking distance from underground railway, funiculars and tourist harbour.

Egli, giovane operaio guantaio, lavorava a bottega in un minuscolo ed angusto ambiente del quartiere Sanità tra i miasmi delle pelli conciate; di tanto in tanto alzava gli occhi su di un balconcino al primo piano dove si affacciava una giovane fanciulla di nome Maria. Vincenzo Russo la guardava e sospirava.Ah Maria.Marì! Il musicista Di Capua, autore di "O' Sole mio"restò contagiato dalla purezza d'animo di Vincenzino. Ecco come nacque Maria Marì!

how to get there:

From Central train station:
Take the line 2 underground (direction Pozzuoli) to Montesanto. Then call the B and B telephone numbers. We´ll fetch you in few minutes.

From Capodichino airport:
Take the bus (Alibus) to city centre, stop in piazza Municipio.Take the R3 bus to piazza Carità or take a taxi to Vico San Nicola alla Carità.

From the A1 Highway:
Follow the direction to Tangenziale di Napoli.Take the exit Capodimonte and go straight ahead for about 1,5 Km until you reach Piazza Dante. B & B is situated 200 meter after this square on the right.
