• The property is set in beautiful countryside, surrounded by olive-groves and outstanding views, with own parking. The 13th century farmhouse retains all the original characteristics, but provides modern amenities. Close to city centre, (12km), 10 mns from motorways (Tyrrhenian Sea, 90 km ( ‘Fi-Pi-Li’ double carriage way), Siena, Arezzo, Milan/Rome A1 motorway, etc.). These cannot be seen or heard from the property. Close to large and convenient supermarkets(6km).
  There are several good country ‘ trattorias ’ (restaurants) in the area (5mins drive). Village shop & bakery within walking distance. Another bakery, open on Sundays, within 5 mins. drive.
  There is a small bus service at the end of our country drive (10mns walk) and another, more efficient one in the nearby town (Scandicci), 10mns drive, where you can leave your car with no parking charges.
• Local activities : cycling, fishing, mountain biking, swimming, tennis, sight seeing,wine tasting, cookery lessons.
• The English speaking owner and his wife live next door to the property.

how to get there:

From MILAN or BOLOGNA get on the A1 motorway direction ROME (same from ROME dir. MILAN):
Exit : “FIRENZE-SCANDICCI” >> after pay-toll follow signs for ‘Scandicci’ >> at roundabout third turn to yr right >> straight to next roundabout turn right and go towards ‘Lastra a Signa’ for 800 yds. >> on your left there is a ‘power station’ with electric pilons, immediately after this >> turn left into Via delle Fonti >> go straight >> cross a narrow bridge >> straight on >> the road narrows >> uphill, go straight (do not turn left towards S.Martino alla Palma ), >> carry on; steep downhill and steep uphill , at the top of the hill you will read a notice ‘Vigliano’, carry on until you meet a fork road >> take a left into Via di Roncigliano.
After 20 yds turn left again, you will read Via di Valimorta onto a dirt track road. There is a first gate after 300 yds, ignore it. Carry on for another 500 yds and you will find another gate,stop.(parking, below right). Enter the courtyard on foot through a small gate to your right, walk to the house on the far right end.
We will be there… expecting you…!! (dist.from exit: 3 ½ miles-10 mins.drive)

From PISA airport enter : “FI-PI-LI” dual carriage way direction FIRENZE:
Exit : “GINESTRA FIORENTINA” >> when you enter the local road, on roundabout, 3rd turning to your right, go straight, ignore the cross road to your left which indicates Lastra a Signa. After 400/500 yds. the road takes a slight rise, turn left, there will be a small sign-post with Carcheri written on it. The road is quite narrow >>you will get to Inno (where there is a typical wood-oven for making bread and pizzas open also on Sundays) >> carry on >> You will see a Vigliano road sign, go passed it. You will notice, on your right, that the road takes a sharp turn going uphill, follow it. After 15/20 yds turn left where it says Via Valimorta, then, you will get onto a country road. You will find a first gate, after just over half a mile, you will find a second gate. For the flat, you will enter the courtyard from the small gate on the right after you have parked the car, below to your right . The house is on the far right end. For the double room you enter the wooden gate area close to where we live. We will be there.. expecting you ! (it takes 55/60 minutes drive to get here, at average speed).

From FLORENCE airport:
Get onto roundabout >> follow signs for Scandicci, Ponte all’Indiano, >> go over a bridge across the Arno river, >> follow signs for FI-PI-LI, go towards Pisa (not Florence), take the first exit, then follow directions as though you were coming from motorway A1, as above. (15-20 mins.)
