• Casa das Tílias dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and is officially placed under the "Tourism Manor House" system since it is the most effective way of preserving its ancient and beautiful features. Even the European Community and the Portuguese Tourism Government Agency recognized its historical value by partially supporting its refurbishment.
• Casa das Tílias is located at São Romão - Seia, a delightful village of Beira Alta right in the inner part of Portugal, that is 45 km away from Viseu, 65 km from Guarda and about 100 km from the Spanish border. Seia is a small town at an altitude of about 600 meters (about 2.000 feet), in the heart of the National Park of Serra da Estrela, which is the highest mountain in Portugal. At Seia you can discover a different country where tradition, character and calmness are its main characteristics.
• Casa das Tílias has a lovely suite with a finely worked empire style ceiling in relief, and 5 other rooms, each one with bathroom, telephone and Satellite TV. There is also a very nice and spacious living-room, called "Rainha Santa"due to the image of its 19 th ceiling. with fireplace where you can read, play, chat or simply seat at the balcony enjoying the silence. Finally, there is an old and pleasant pub available to all hosts and friends. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden with swimming pool, and has its own parking lot.
• During your stay you will have maid service that takes care of everything for you, since cleaning-up the rooms, to offering you a delightful breakfast with home made jam, honey, cottage cheese and of course, the famous Serra Cheese, accompanied by the local maize bread or the rye bread which is still made according to old traditional methods.

how to get there:

Para quem vem de Lisboa, recomendamos a saida da A1, ao Km 197 , pela IP3 -Viseu. Passados 27 kms sugerimos a saída da IP3, pela IC7 (placas Oliveira do Hospital - Guarda). Cerca de 60 kms depois, surgirá o desvio para São Romão, onde encontrará placas com a indicação da Casa das Tílias.
Outra sugestão mais recente, e rápida, é não sair da IP3, pela IC7, mas pela nova IC12 (placas Guarda - Mangualde) que aparecerá cerca de 40 kms após a saída da A1, ao Km 82. Seguindo sempre em frente chegará a Nelas, donde seguirá a indicação de Seia. São Romão fica a 3 kms.
Para quem vem do Porto, recomendamos a saida da A1, pela IP5 -Viseu. Nesta Cidade seguir as placas Nelas / Seia. Cerca de 40 kms depois chegará a Seia, onde encontrará placas com a indicação de São Romão (a 3 kms).
