description:
- "El Canto del Gallo" is located in the highest area
of Ranedo de Curueño, close to one of the three fountains
of this town. The house is a building of the 19th century, where
every traditional element of the popular mountain architecture
has been conserved. There are 6 double rooms with bathroom, heating,
a spacious lounge with fireplace, courtyard with barbecue and
vegetable garden from where we get all the vegetables we eat in
the house. Every room is situated in the former straw loft which
has been restored in order to have a lounge with a small kitchen.

living- room, rooms with bathroom, television.

- Outside: barbecue, garden, garden furnitures, terrace, vegetable

Ranedo de Curueñon is a small town in the mountain of León
which is located in Flight by balloon in the Picos de Europa area!!!!
Together with the company "Globos Alisios S.L.", we
arrange flights by balloon flying over the "Cordillera Cantábrica"
(Cantabrian mountains) during the weekend.
The price per person is 25.000 pesetas.
- Visit to "Cueva de Valporquero" (caves)
It is opened to the public since 1.966 when the County Council
of León decided to open it, although the local inhabitants
have known it for several centuries. The origin of the "Cueva
de Valporquero" dates from one million years approximately,
in the Low Pleistocene, geological period of the Quaternary era.
- Roman road that crosses "Hoces de Valdeteja" (gorge):
this is a low difficulty route; 8 Roman and medieval bridges have
to be crossed
- Cola de Ángel (angel's tail) Waterfall (4 kilometres)

how
to get there:
Address: C/ Basilio Sierra, 16 - 24847 Ranedo de Curueño.
From León, the road "N-621" is the most advisable
route; and the provincial road number 1 (P-1) towards Boñar.
Before getting to Boñar, there is a detour towards "La
Vecilla" (C-626), and before getting to "La Vecilla",
there is another one to the right towards Ranedo.
From Asturias, through the mountain pass of Pajares or the motorway
up to "La Robla", and from this point on road "C-626"
towards "La Vecilla".
From Palencia, Valladolid, Salamanca or Madrid on the A road "N-601".
In Puente Villarente, take the Provincial road 1 to León
From that point, go through Boñar or through "La Vecilla"
going up the river Curueño.
